Not practical at all, thats why animals were domesticated. Even then the power output is terrible, an ox can pull a plough but not provide 'energy' for a plan to fly etc. Anyway, the theory is that we will never run out of hydrogen so thats what the big brains are currently working on, an efficient way of utilising hydrogen in nuclear fusion (like the sun does) to provide virtually limitless energy.
However, if you get oxen to walk in a circle to spin an arm that is connected ot a power generator, it's not very effient however and is now rightly considered archaic
We need to go to the moon and procure the He-3. Clean nuclear fussion.
this is a semi-joke question btw
Ah, well in that case there is a good documentary you should watch which explains how the world can run entirely powered by humans; The Matrix. I believe there were some teething troubles but hopefully they'll get sorted soon.
yeah, i am just wondering if it will actually work irl, disregarding any ethical and moral concerns.
Thanks for the original question. a quick google result said that it is possible to harvest energy from humans and they even built something that they shoved in a rat and it collected electricity without harming the rat. So human electrical power could certainly power personal tech and I am sure that some evil genius could warp that into some way of enslaving humanity. The only difference with that and the matrix is that it said we produce most electricity when being active not just lying down in some sort of pod. So replace the pods with treadmills and you can harvest more electricity from the humans themselves and as a bonus from the treadmill as well. Win win!
But do you have to be physically active or just trick the brain into thinking it's being active. Like if everyone is plugged into the matrix and "moving" about but are actually just floating in a pod would that still be sufficient
I think the electricity is sparking around making the muscles work, so you’d have to trick the brain into twitching the muscles possibly. So yep, we’re back in the pods!
This sounds like…..the slave trade?????????
If you would put a human on an exercise bike to power a house you would not get far. The human would barely be able to power the freezer and refrigerator. If someone where to turn on the oven then you would have to do a sprint for the entire duration.
However, your house also needs heating/AC, computers, lights,....
Just not possible, even for a pro athlete. Or even multiple people.
